Just started watching and seeing Chris’s wife, again, in his movies? Really? It is a turn off to continue tbh.. just my personal opinion. The woman is too sticky at this point.. (personal opinion, again…)

I love this whimsical and touching adaptation of the Sara Varon graphic novel. Nominated in the Best Animated Feature Film category at the Academy Awards, it doesn’t need dialogue to tell a story of how deeply fulfilling, but fragile, relationships can be. I’ll never hear Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September” again without thinking of this film. It’s suitable for kids, but I’m not sure how much of it younger ones will get or if it can hold their attention throughout.

Let’s not forget the whacked out stuff H. P. Lovecraft, Clive Barker, Ray Bradbury et al have all come up with. I used to think the “trips” were all pharmaceutical, but as the quantum possibilities are addressed…well, now there’s that, innit?!

greyfur 2 points 7 days ago. (Contains Spoilers)

No kidding, needless to mention all of the science fiction stuff I used to read as a kid, and then all the fantasy stuff later on. And then you factor in all the random stuff that rolls through peoples heads every day…

Pretty mind blowing what the possibilities wind up being.

I tried watching this show before but those screaming kids ruined it for me. I decided to cowgirl up and give it another go. 4 episodes in and I do like it so far, but I have a question…does the screaming ever stop???

Please say yes!

tabularascal 1 points 7 days ago.

It gets more shouty and less screamy, with the onset of puberty in the actors (the youngest is now 12). But no, not completely. It’s asymptotic screaming.

I can’t get enough of this show. They feel like friends at this point. Yes I realize they’re fictional. But it’s how it feels to me. 😁

tabularascal 1 points 7 days ago.

The storyline is good, but it’s definitely the likeability of the characters that keeps me returning to this show. I even like the baddies!

Evil (2019)

It’s back! After a 1 year hiatus, I didn’t think I would see it return but here it is. It picks up where it left off with a good subplot that focuses on the characters. If you are a fan of this show, you’re gonna love the 1st episode.

Super good, but only if you can watch with subs. The dubbed version is silly sounding. Otherwise, riveting!

Terrifying Timber 2 points 7 days ago.

It’s an international cast and the episodes are predominately in English. However, the Swedes speak Swedish when they’re alone together. The same goes for Germans, who naturally speak German internally. I could find only one link with the few necessary subs that worked for me.

Dexter: New Blood (2021)
ThinMan 1 points 7 days ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Definitely good enough to re-watch, especially with the spin off early days prequel starting filming in June 2024. However, we wish they’d of chosen Harrison and not Dexter to to spin off. Without Michael C. Hall I’m afraid Dexter will be lacking severely, plus Harrison had inherited the “dark passenger” and that would have been much more interesting (for us). We’re still hopeful! This is a terrific sequel!

Researcher 1 points 7 days ago.

Actually, I was cringing at the thought of that kid leading a spin-off. Granted, didn’t think they’d continue with Hall , but I don’t think Harrison has the gravitas needed for the role of a serial killer. Having said that, definitely looking forward to a prequel, maybe even several prequel seasons. IMHO, Slater’s casting bodes well and I’ve enjoyed Patrick Gibson’s work, so it’s all up to the writers now.

Yeah, kind of like if you think about it, it’s happened in some other timeline. Makes you wonder about writers and all the things they have written, could have all of those things have actually happened in some alternate version of here? Some spinoff of the road not taken?

And then there’s King, and the weird wacked out stuff he’s written, kind of makes me want to move out of Maine now….all things considered, I think we’ve been lucky.

Finally it’s here and well to be frank while this movie doesn’t match up to Mad Max Fury Road and has a pointless cameo by Max himself this is still a very enjoyable film with all of the great action that you’d come to expect from these film with some good acting to go with them as well.

This was a fantastic movie…. so many layers. Utterly terrifying, yet it told the story in a way that I have not see before. War is not cool. Under any circumstances. I wasn’t expecting to love this, but I didn’t miss a minute of it and will tell everyone it should be compulsory viewing. Don’t think it has been promoted correctly. Considering all that is happening in the world right now… this is incredible.

What the hell, I remember watching this years ago and the ending was completely different. He didn’t kill himself in the womb, he went back to his childhood where he was introduced to Kayleigh but instead of making friends with her he pushed her over and told her he hated her and to never speak to him. Guess I’ve slipped into another reality again. Ironic.

PersephoneNightingale 2 points 7 days ago. (Contains Spoilers)

There are 4 different endings. You need to have the DVD to know this information though. This is the Director’s Cut, which also has other changes throughout the the film, including giving us information that suggests that Evan’s mother was pregnant three other times and all three children inherited Jason’s gift and made the same final decision as Evan, ending in miscarriage by strangulation each time. Most of us have only seen the Theatrical Cut, in which Evan cuts ties with Kayleigh during her birthday, then in the future chooses to ignore her while passing her on the sidewalk. In the Happy Ending, they stop and start talking to one another. In the Open-Ended Cut, Evan decides not to ignore Kayleigh and turns around to follow her.

The Butterfly Effect (2004)
PersephoneNightingale 2 points 7 days ago. (Contains Spoilers)

See…. I absolutely LOVE this movie, but I admit, this is only my SECOND favorite ending. I got the DVD when it came out and, fortunately, all four endings were included. In order from my most favorite ending to my least favorite ending it goes:

  1. Happy Ending
  2. Director’s Cut
  3. Open-Ended
  4. Theatrical Cut

I HATE the theatrical release ending, where Evan sees and recognizes Kayleigh on the sidewalk, but keeps walking. Like, at LEAST give them a chance if you’re going to let them come in contact again!

My favorite version is what everyone calls the “happy ending.” In that version, Evan and Kayleigh stop on the sidewalk when they cross paths and they start talking, given a clean slate. 🥰

As I stated, I his is my second favorite ending, which is the “Director’s Cut.” I like this version because Evan, by killing himself, gives everyone else the opportunity for happiness. I also like the Director’s Cut beccause it gives us an inside look that implies that Evans mother had three miscarriages before Evan, who also made the same decision and just took their own lives (note how the doctor says, “he’s strangling himself,” and Evan’s mother, in anguish, says, “not again!”

The Open-Ended Cut, like the Happy Ending and Theatrical Cut, occurs after Evan goes back to Kayleigh’s birthday party and cuts ties with her. I am fine with this cut because, after Evan passes Kayleigh on the sidewalk and keeps walking, he then decides, now that they are past all of the times of drama and turmoil, to
turn around and follow her. This allows us to make our own inferences as to how the story might turn out. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Dexter: New Blood (2021)

If you’re a fan of Dexter and the Dexter spinoff, then read on…..Showtime revealed the cast for the planned 10-part thriller about the titular character’s days of training to become a serial killer with a code: he only kills people who deserve it. Actor Patrick Gibson (Netflix’s Shadow and Bone) will play the younger version of Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan, while Christian Slater will portray his adoptive father, homicide detective Harry Morgan. Molly Brown, from film Senior Year, has been cast as Dexter’s younger sister, Debra Morgan. This newest installment will be set 15 years before the original show began. It follows Dexter “as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcements’ radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.”

Cheesy Terminator wanna-be with JLo. Okay for a one time watch, mainly because the CGI is so obvious and annoying; not to mention JLo’s hair and make-up. “You’re So Vain” comes to mind and should’ve been included in the soundtrack. Thank you for the links!

This has got to be one of the worst movies I’ve seen this year! If I had to score it, I would give it a 1/5. If you’re a fan of apocalyptic movies, and end of the world scenarios, Then you’re barking up the wrong tree. I’ve been waiting for so long to watch this, but I ended up being so disappointed with the lack of a story, and the horrible acting. The Movie jumps right in to the action, or should I say the lack of action. There really wasn’t a great plot to follow, and the whole movie was pretty much about a few journalists trying to make it across a few states without getting killed. The whole movie was just lacking any kind of a story, It could have been a great movie, but this one fell hard and never got back up.
