Pretty good, 8/10. I’m not sure how many people realize this is a real way of life for many people.

I hope this will help me in my struggles! I almost lost my foot from too slow healing! I stopped smoking and drinking after I had a mild heart attack caused from my diabetes! I’m at the dangerous age of 64 and already I have almost no imunity against even a cold! Praying won’t help much.
I love this damned show, and now I love my Canadian neighbors even more than before. :D
Wondering is this a sequel to the 1980 something movie Just One of the Guys?
Per IMDB “It was marketed as Just One Of The Girls. A play on the 1985 film Just One Of The Guys a form of unofficial sequel to that film.”
After two ep’s i’m hooked and on my way down the same rabbit hole the main character is in , for once i’ve not a clue where this is going…
Disney is going to eventually milk starwars to were we get to seee the janitors on the death star … make and impact on the battle of the galaxy’s …..lmao !’’
More so than any science fiction offering in recent memory, this show lets me revisit the fascination and wonderment I felt as a teenager reading the masters of the genre. Assimov, Heinlein, Clarke, and Bradbury were my gods. They educated me on a wide variety of subjects and helped form my humanist viewpoint. I am forever in debt to them for making me the man I am and helping me survive a very troubled childhood.
And I sincerely do WISH THEM THE BEST. Thanks PW. You’ve been a blessing to my 3am ADHD can’t sleep problems.
Apparently you either love this or meh it. As a series standing alone, I thought it was excellent. It’s compelling and fast paced, it’s visually stunning, and the acting was appropriately superficial with a layer of nuance underneath. It’s eerie how much of the pathology in these two worlds and their societies is literally outside our front door, this week, today. This is not faithful to the book and if you’re looking for that this will probably piss you off. It’s more like a 2020 riff on the themes and building blocks and moral questions raised by the book - which was written almost 100 years ago and feels like it was written today. Huxley’s vision was amazingly prescient. We now have ever-more-sophisticated AI, wearables, facial and microexpression recognition, global network connectivity, and the largest country in the world has a centralized mass digital ranking system which is compulsory for all its citizens and eliminates personal privacy. It’s one step away from doing this by mobile devices to attaching it to your head. This level of technology is very near on the horizon and we will face the same issues and choices when it evolves into us. 5/5
i did watch it. i gave it two chances starting with s1 and same answer
Well we saw different things then. I saw a power tussle where the best laid plan with the best resource backing it eventually wins.
Love Bill Murray. This was a very cute movie. Might need a tissue at the end.
Hehehehe Best episode yet. Sooo darn funny!!! Start to finish! Way too many funny lines and situations to mention. LOL 😆🤣🤣🤣
better than the first couple seasons at least…I love trek but this isn’t star trek…I mean it’s getting there with this last season…it’s ok sci fi at least…just wish we could get real star trek, you know, the formula that made the franchise famous from the 60’s to 2000’s, 45 years! Why they abandoned that is beyond understanding. Odd that only lower decks now follows that similar line…I love it more than std
I thought the imdb rating of 5 was a little low. For me, this was an interesting movie about mental illness and being lost. Similar to the dual worlds of “Wander” or “Shutter Island”, with a focus on the down and out.
Despite the story’s merit, it suffers from imperfect execution. I thought the three acts or screenplay could have been in a different order. The scifi in act II pulls you out of the story a little, but it does have a point in the overall plot.
Also, the dialogue might have been more salient had it been spoken by different actors. I’ve liked Hayek and Wilson in other movies, but I thought both rolls would have been better served by seasoned dramatists. Just my slant. Many might find their portrayals gripping.
Overall, though, I did find some philosophical value in the story. It’s about a 3/5, somewhat engaging even with it’s flaws.
I think a lot of people missed the point of this movie…it was way more subtle than Nicks usual movie roles lately.[he never turns down a role] This was a drama, not a thriller and if you were also expecting weird, wild and crazy Nick, then I can see why you’d be disappointed. The movie poster is all wrong too, its not about him being crazy or violent…its him being serious and sad. I love seeing him go back to his roots and play a serious role again. He shines when doing serious dramas and off-beat indie cult classic type roles.
Just unbelievable and very sad. Such a good documentary. It is insane what all of them went through.
So, we’re now at the point where the Paranormal Activity name is slapped on any “found footage” type horror film. There is very little actual paranormal activity in this film whatsoever. This feels more like a Blair Witch ripoff with a little bit of The Village thrown in.
I’m the dude man. The Coen bros masterpiece and that is saying something. If you are one of the few that haven’t seen this. Do yourself a favor and watch it while you are here.
I can honestly say I didn’t know anything about the show or was even remotely interested in watching it until a few years AFTER it ended! While laid up in bed for 6 weeks recovering from surgery and already depleting my options of binge worthy shows in just the 1st week, I desperately needed something to watch with 5 long weeks to go LOL! So I put it on, never expecting to pay attention and be more so background noise…so I was quite pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be my absolute favorite TV show of all time! And that wasn’t until a few years AFTER the series had ended!!! And now, I’d estimate that I’ve watched it completely through over 20 times, and daily, nonstop, back to back replays on Audience channel in just the last 2 years! One of only a handful of movies/tv shows that I would honestly rate a 10/10
Wow! The first episode was outstanding! A Whodunit with a government conspiracy thrown in. Very well done, can’t wait for more!
Very cerebral sci-fi. Incredible little chapters creating this one story of ‘The Doors.’ This imo is a ‘watch alone.’ I had some herb and poured a drink and sat back with no expectations. 7-8/10. I recommend. live long and prosper meh trekkies.
I really do want to like this. There are some fun ideas to play with here, but I’m afraid the whole thing is going to be bogged down with that “a million melodramatic subplots” format that writers too often overuse in shows, especially sci/fantasy. I’m pointing at you, Under the Dome, Next, and V (2009).
Things become tedious when the show has 1) given viewers the setup, and 2) primes them for the action—-only to then 3) bog everything down with side drama that brings story advancement to a crawl. Every plan gets a monkey wrench. Every group has at least one loser and/or sly snake. Every forward step is matched by four steps back. Every. Single. Time.
If you are a fan of Star Trek or space adventure this is an absolute must watch. It really delved into current issues like TNG. 😍
Hands down one of the best Spider-Man movies ! And omg that moment when they gonna find Peter !! <3 Very cool but still Dr. Strange’s reasons seems very strange but it was one heck of a ride and I will watch it again when it comes in better quality ! :D
You get the feeling from the show that the FDA is in the pockets of the drug companies. The thought is the FDA is there to protect the consumers but it seems from this that they are in the pockets of the drug companies. Are they there to make sure drug company liability is minimal to fiascos like OxyContin? No of course they are there to protect the consumers, yeah no issues in the government
Take a look at the CEO’s and boards of companies like Pfizer, J and J, and Merck. There are huge amounts of crossover between them and people who’ve served as directors in the FDA. It’s literally a revolving door.
Work for Pfizer, get hired at the FDA, then go back to Pfizer, then back to the FDA.
It’s so crooked it’s scary.
Some of the same info that you’ve seen in other serial killer shows. This one, I think, takes a unique look at comparing 5 serial killers (Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, The Green River Killer and BTK) with similar styles. I found the first two very interesting and looking forward to the rest.
Evey movie in this franchise suck!!!!
These films aren’t meant to works of art there meant to be something that you can watch for two and a half hours and just have fun. These are films that don’t require you to actually think about what’s going on in the respective films of this franchise so please try switching your brain of the next time that you watch one of these movies and just have some fun watching them I promise you that you won’t regret it.
WATCH ORIGINAL SERIES!!
For someone who has watched the first 8 seasons maybe 3 times, do yourself the service, you should definitely watch the whole thing if you can. The more this season is going on the more they are referencing the previous seasons. Yeah maybe you can enjoy it on it’s own, but practically all the subject matter coming up is about previously things that happened.
What made it all worthwhile was the sign McBane was holding up. Priceless.
“In September 2020, Soderbergh confirmed that a new season of The Knick is in development led by Barry Jenkins and André Holland, who would return as his character Dr. Algernon C. Edwards, and that original creators Jack Amiel and Michael Begler have written a pilot episode” - via The Knick’s Wikipedia page
Wow scarier than a horror movie!! To think this maniac was allowed to practice medicine is truly frightening!! Great acting and storytelling. 4/5
Don’t worry - no spoilers…
I don’t understand what people see in the Conjuring movies. “Based on a true story” which is based on people who didn’t live in reality. The movie “The Strangers” was also based on a true story; it happened to the director in his childhood, although it was way different: somebody was knocking on doors until they found one where no one was home and broke in to rob the place. That’s what “based on a true story” means.
If this one was a straight-up fiction horror film I still couldn’t give it any better than a 6. Where in these movies was there anything original? Anything unexpected? Were there any characters that you feel invested in? Even when it’s with actors you enjoy? The only thing of value in this collection is Vera Farmiga but she’s always lovely. That being said I can’t even remember her character’s first name. This is one of those movies where you’re keenly aware that you’re never getting those 2 hours back. I didn’t like the other ones, why did I even bother?
Had to comment that Mark Rylance is hilarious in this movie. He has such great range as an actor.
