The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)

Don’t worry - no spoilers…

I don’t understand what people see in the Conjuring movies. “Based on a true story” which is based on people who didn’t live in reality. The movie “The Strangers” was also based on a true story; it happened to the director in his childhood, although it was way different: somebody was knocking on doors until they found one where no one was home and broke in to rob the place. That’s what “based on a true story” means.

If this one was a straight-up fiction horror film I still couldn’t give it any better than a 6. Where in these movies was there anything original? Anything unexpected? Were there any characters that you feel invested in? Even when it’s with actors you enjoy? The only thing of value in this collection is Vera Farmiga but she’s always lovely. That being said I can’t even remember her character’s first name. This is one of those movies where you’re keenly aware that you’re never getting those 2 hours back. I didn’t like the other ones, why did I even bother?
