(Review not Discussion)I’ve seen a lot about “Exotic Joe” through the years and even been to his “centre” years back, as well as Carol Baskin’s. In the rescue circles, Carol is not considered an activist. She is considered an exploiter. She does turn a huge profit. There is a lot of practicality to rescuing large animals, and captive breeding, if they are kept well. Considering how much humans have fucked up their natural world there really isn’t a clear cut “right and wrong”, although straight up abuse can be obvious. What I witnessed was a money making machine on both accounts, however both places kept the animals very well. I cannot speak to the “murder for hire” bit. That’s still coming up in this series. As always, Netflix Docos are top notch and simultaneously entertaining. This is highly watchable. The judgement of it all has to be reserved till later, if at all.
(This is a 4.5/5 for me. The system does not allow for 1/2 stars in it’s individual calculations.)
