The Book of Boba Fett (2021) S1 E3
darklighter1 2 points 2 years ago.

Boba Fett just keeps getting his ass kicked all over the place. His demise in RotJ is starting to make more and more sense. Temuera Morrison really shoulda gotten in better shape before coming back to this role. He and everyone he fights always look like they are moving in slow motion. Really disappointing show.

Canuckian 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

They addressed his “demise” on RotJ in the first episode in the first 5 minutes which i am really glad they did because as soon as i heard about them making this series, the events in the beginning of RotJ were at the forefront of my mind lol..thanks to how they addressed that in the first episode of this show, they can now stick to canon material in the SW Universe without it being considered a “reboot” if you know what i mean ;)

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
fessologue 2 points 2 years ago.

Well, two years later…
Every time I watch this trilogy I realize just how… STUPENDOUS!
Oh how I wish for another…”Peter Jackson”?

Canuckian 2 points 2 years ago.

You would need another person who is able to take their vision of an amazing book or series and put it on film the way Jackson did with LotR. It is not easy to do. There are some amazing series out there like the two I mentioned…I am sure you have already seen the WoT series on Amazon Prime and like me, if you have read the books, are already disappointed. That is what I meant by needing another Peter Jackson ;)

Die Hard (1988)
Canuckian 4 points 2 years ago.

Hans Gruber went back to Hogwarts after his run-in with John Maclean. He even changed his name to Severus Snape so Maclean could never track him down. Yup. Best Christmas movie EVER…and a great origin story for Snape ;) Merry Christmas to you all, you filthy animals ;) Ho Ho Ho!

The Wheel of Time (2021)
Skylar 8 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I was so looking forward to this show but have been really disappointed. The script is poor to average at best, the acting below par, the special effects are so-so, characters are unlikeable, the story is disjointed and meanders from scene to scene and the sets look CGI. The trolloc’s look decent however! I’ll give it a couple more episodes but so far it has to be a 3/10 from me.

Canuckian 6 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I HATE to agree with you lol. Although Rosamund Pike is an established actress, she is not how i imagined Moiraine Damodred to look…but i can live with that. I expected Lan Madragoran to be much bigger, i guess i pictured him looking more like he did on the cover of the original Eye of the World novel lol, like a cross between a Mongol and a Samurai lol. Again, i can get over it…but when you say that none of the characters are likeable, i tend to agree there more heartedly. I know its only the first episode but none of them have really captured me yet…they all seem very underwhelming if you know what i mean. There is a good chance that all of this is simply because i have been so pumped to see this show since i heard about it that my expectations were just too high so in no way will I be NOT watching lol, but i DO hope that it becomes more….i don’t know, less choppy? You are right when you mentioned that if felt a little disjointed. I feel they are trying to rush too much at once. They dont need too! I keep my fingers crossed that they get their bearings and settle into a good rythm..i know it always takes a few episodes for a show to start getting their feet under it so heres to hoping! OH! and YES the Trollocs and the Fade looked BAD ASS lol i admit ;)

Alley Cats Strike (2000)
Canuckian 0 points 2 years ago.

So i currently work with Kyle Shmid’s younger brother and he told me that Kaley Cuoco (Big Bang Theory fame) who is also in this movie, was a family friend and she used to babysit Cam (Kyles brother that i work with) when he was young lol…so i find it neat to see her acting alongside a young Kyle Shmid in this movie…its all about the connections i guess lol.

I watched this as a child. Reading the synopsis now, totally Lucy-in-the-sky, no wonder i became a hippie!! :))x

LMFAO! No doubt! I have never heard of this old show being i was born in the mid 70’s but the synopsis here seems totally “far out”! Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds indeed! LOL

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (2017) S1 E215
Canuckian 1 points 2 years ago.

I am really enjoying this next generation series featuring the children of the main heroes from Naruto/Naruto Shippuden…in the beginning I was worried that it was going to be a big let-down considering how slowly it began..though there aren’t very many “filler” episodes thankfully, the pace moves quite slow at times progressing the main story. With that said, I find myself very invested in these characters and I love how seamlessly they wove in past fave characters (the parents who are all now powerful shinobi) with this generation without making this show about them again, basically making it a third incarnation of Naruto so to speak. Next episode looks like its going to be a really good one!! Love seeing Naruto and Sasuke doing their thing together!

The Wheel of Time (2021)
kerfy 8 points 2 years ago.

Jordan had said early on in the series that he could finish them at any time because he had his notes for the whole story.. Sadly he did not.. He sorta milked it and slowed down about the time the video game came out.. I was very dissapointed when he died.. I think the wheel of time is probly the best of the genre.. Very similar to the belgariad series.. :)

Canuckian 7 points 2 years ago.

ooh The Belgariad quintet of books was FANTASTIC! Don’t forget the subsequent Malloreon quintet as well which is a direct continuation of the events in Belgariad..There is also the Elenium Trilogy which follows the Malloreon but I have never had the opportunity to read it but i’m sure it is just as amazing It was actually the first High Fantasy series I ever read (that wasn’t Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance lol). I had actually forgotten all about those series of books! David Eddings is an AMAZING writer! Think I might have to go out and re-buy the entire series for my collection!Did you say there is a WoT Video Game they came out with? Why have I never heard of this? lol..geez I only recently learned that they came out with one season of a show based on the Sword of Truth books a bunch of years ago lol..as soon as I learned this I went and gave a couple episodes a watch and I just couldn’t do it. The acting was terrible and the only similarity to the books was the names of the characters and places lol..I wasn’t going to ruin the enjoyment I experienced after just finishing the SoT series by watching any more lol. Anyways, Thanks for reminding me of one of my fave series of books which I haven’t read in over 25 yrs! Very much looking forward to revisiting those books! Cheers kerfy!

YES!!! Bring me the Bloody Nine!!!!!

Canuckian 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I appreciate the feedback guys, gonna check out Mistborn and First Law Trilogy! I like the premise of what you described for Mistborn, i don’t mind a little Dark Fantasy where the good guys don’t always win lol. Cheers gents! Thanks!

The Wheel of Time (2021)
BladesofTroy 4 points 2 years ago.

Well I mean he already writes in a somewhat Jordan style, The Mistborn series being a sort of darkest timeline where He Who Shall Not Be Named won. But yes there were times, and dont ask me specifics it’s been a few years, that it was noticeable that it was not Jordan writing. That’s just me though. And it is neither bad nor good. Just a thing that is.

Canuckian 3 points 2 years ago.

ya i hear you man :) Re. The Mistborn series you mentioned, i have never heard of it. If i understood you correctly, are you saying that it is based in the WoT universe where the bad guys won instead of the good guys? Its based on the same world and characters? I am most curious now because i have been looking for a new fantasy series to dig my teeth into and its difficult to find GOOD High Fantasy writers and a good story..i just finished The Sword of Truth series and it was amazing!

The Wheel of Time (2021)
Canuckian 1 points 2 years ago.

I saw the preview for this last week when it came out and I am SUPER pumped to see this!! There is SO much potential for this to be on par with Tolkiens live action Lord of the Rings Peter Jackson did! I have read this entire series of books, all 14 of them three times, and and am planning on a fourth read through before this series comes out. I pray they got as much of the story in this show as possible because imo, this is masterful storytelling that needs NO embellishment, or any additional “Hollywood” so to speak to make it ‘bigger’…we all know Hollywood loves to add its own flare, but this series doesn’t need it. Can’t WAIT!

The Wheel of Time (2021)
Trent 3 points 2 years ago.

I noticed the style change in the writing. Thanks for explaining what happened.

Canuckian 3 points 2 years ago.

Really? I thought that Sanderson was masterful in utilizing Jordans style and his own..I barely noticed tbh..at least, nothing that took away from the story or how I percieved it as I read. I guess its all in the eye of the beholder ;) Cheers man

The Wheel of Time (2021)
Miffy 6 points 2 years ago.

❤ love seeing his proof reader, editor, and wife mentioned in the cast section!! she’s the one that kept Sanderson on track after Robert Jordan passed away…

Canuckian 4 points 2 years ago.

Robert Jordan left a stack of notes and had the overall layout of how he wanted the series to finish thankfully, so all Sanderson had to do was fill in the blanks while Jordan still “steered the ship” so to speak. Sanderson did an amazing job matching Jordans style and his own flawlessly, you couldn’t even really notice the switch! Jordans wife was a huge influence and source of information and motivation for him at the end which is why he acknowledges her in the books. ;)

Bering Sea Gold (2012) S13 E3
Canuckian 1 points 2 years ago.

Shaun P. is going to KILL it with two dredges, especially with the M.I. on the water. Looking forward to seeing his future gold counts with that beast, and should put him closer to finally completeing his Mega Dredge which dwarfs even the M.I.! Chris Kelly nailed it when he called it the size of a small city lol…seeing him stand beside it, i never realized how BIG it really was! Its amazing something like that even floats! Another great episode, Steve Reidell is always good for a laugh lol

Loki (2021) S1 E6
Canuckian 1 points 2 years ago.

I am a little late to the show i know, but where is this Post Credit scene people keep talking about? Supposedly it makes the ending even better? I have checked several different links and i can find no post or mid-credit scene whatsoever other then when it says “Loki will return in Season 2”…anyone? Thanks

Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted (2019) S1 E1
Canuckian 1 points 2 years ago.

Can’t hear any talking after about the 10min 30sec point…you still hear sound like the background music, but can’t hear any talking whatsoever. Tried several different links and they are all the same :( Tried skipping forward in the video and it looks like it stays that way for the rest of the episode making it unwatchable unless you don’t mind not hearing what is being said.

Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One (2021)
Canuckian 1 points 2 years ago.

Another solid outing by DC Animnation…can’t wait for part Two to come out in another month or so so i’ve heard. Voice acting was excellent, Jensen Ackles (Dean from Supernatural) does a bang on Batman and whoever the guy was who did Joker really sounded like Mark Hamill from Batman:TAS. DC needs to stop making live action and focus on their animation movies lol A solid 10 for me! Cheers!

Night of the Wolf (2014)
longhaired metalhead 5 points 2 years ago*.

One of the greatest Werewolf movies ever made no CGI crap pure physical effects the way a true horror movie should be likeable relatable chars even if u dont like werewolf movies still worth watching cant say enough good things about this up there with american werewolf in london
PS if u look for this movie and cant find it search ‘Late Phases’

Canuckian 3 points 2 years ago.

Saw your comment and had to check it out..love a good Werewolf movie and to see you compare this to AWiL was high praise indeed. Gonna have to give this a watch, adding it to my watch list! I also agree that physical effects, though not as realistic as CGI, have a certain creep factor that just makes it more scary imo, glad to see others feel the same lol. I miss the days of old when they went through tanker trucks of fake blood in a good horror movie back in the day lol. Cheers and thanks!

Thanks to all the comments, you guys have reminded me of this cult phenom! I remember watching it when it first came out and being absolutely blown away with how much I enjoyed it! I saved it on my faves on the old PW to come back and watch again one day and I forgot all about it until now..I can’t WAIT to watch this later tonight! If you haven’t seen this yet, stop what you are doing and watch it! This is pure, unadulterated FUN. PERIOD! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

Defending Your Life (1991)
bucro 8 points 3 years ago.

If people are not aware Brooks is the brother of Super Dave Osborne. Super Dave’s real name was Bob Einstein and he had a great comedy career. If I am not mistaken that would mean Brooks’ real name is Albert Einstein.

Canuckian 5 points 3 years ago.

I did NOT know that, and i grew up watching Super Dave back in the 80’s lol..i always loved his crazy “stunts” at the end of every episode lol..and the announcer..wasn’t that “mean” Gene Okerlund or something, the guy from WWF? I could be mistaken, i am remembering back over 30 yrs here lol..i wonder if they have episodes of Super Dave here on PW…i would enjoy the nostialgic trip down memory lane if they do lol. Thanks for the tidbit, i love little connections like that between actors..cheers bucro!

Superman & Lois (2021) S1 E2
Canuckian 1 points 3 years ago.

I had no idea until a few weeks ago that they made a Superman and Lois show…although the main two actors are the same as from the Arrowverse (Supergirl, Arrow, LoT, Flash) I am still not sure this show is in that Universe or is it a stand-alone…maybe they just like Tylers portrayal of Superman so used him for this series..anyways, all that aside, this show is a lot better than I thought it would be tbh. The production is high, CGI is top notch for a TV show and I love the direction I think they are taking it so far in regards to the main plotline. The relationship between Clark/Superman and his kids is interesting..not used to seeing Superman in that kind of role and I am interested in seeing how he does. I find myself honestly looking forward to the next episode! I know they have to have a story for the twins Jordan and Johnathan, but I sincerely hope they don’t focus overmuch on the teen drama just for the sake of having it in the show. I don’t mind if it serves a purpose and adds to the overall story/plot and furthers it along, but to put it in just to have it there, well, that is when shows start to lose me..anyways, two episodes in and I am truly enjoying this so far..hope they keep it up!

Monster Hunter (2020)
Canuckian 1 points 3 years ago.

I was hooked on the OG Monster Hunter on my PSP back in the day and this is very loosely based on that..recognized a few weapons from the game and a couple monster names but that was about it. Other than that, this was a fairly action packed creature feature from start to finish, no deep thinking involved here. A pure popcorn flick if I ever saw one. Glad I waited for DVD copy. Cheers!

The Amazing Spider-Man (1977) S1 E1
Canuckian 0 points 3 years ago.

I saw this while scrolling through the shows and i just HAD to see just a few minutes of it, to see how the 70’s would make Spiderman on screen live action…I couldn’t stop watching!! LOL! It was so bad I just HAD to keep watching! Every time “Spiderman” came out, I felt like he was about to do a porn scene because they played that 70’s-80’s style porn music during Spidermans big scenes LMAO! Oh man, i haven’t had this much fun watching a show in ages..it is impossible to take this seriously, but if you like cheesy, poorly made 70’s shows with all the 70’s cliches and atmosphere, then you gotta watch at least the first episode..its an hour and a half long so long enough to get the jist and get your 70’s Spiderman fix…oh, and the Aunt May in this..omg…most ANNOYING Aunt May EVER LOL! (you’ll see what I mean!)

Blue Water, White Death (1971)
Canuckian 4 points 3 years ago.

Oh WOW!!! I have been trying to find this Documentary for AGES!! This is the Documentary that provided most of the underwater footage of the shark in Steven Spielbergs movie “JAWS”. Ron and Valerie Taylor were pioneers in the field and were the first people to ever record underwater footage of a Great White Shark. You will notice a LOT of similarities in the style of filming in this Doc and JAWS…Spielberg took a lot of inspiration for his style for filming JAWS from this amazing and ground breaking Documentary. If you love sharks as I do and you haven’t seen this yet, I highly recommend watching it. Thank you to whomever found this and added it the PW library!

Dune (2021)
Canuckian 3 points 3 years ago.

I had NO idea they were remaking this movie! The original Dune with Patrick Stewart from the 80’s is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I always felt that it needed MORE when it ended…of course, at that time I didn’t realize it was based on a series of books which I am planning on reading very soon…is J.Momoa playing Paul Atreides aka Moadib? I have a hard time seeing that for the only reason that in the beginning of the movie, Paul was just a kid, a young man..Momoa has a certain intensity that he would have to tone down a bit to play a young naive Paul. Is there any previews/trailers for this yet?

Don’t forget R2D2 was with him…of course it was Luke lol..i can’t believe anyone would even doubt that, i mean, they have been talking about Alderaan being blown up by the first Death Star and the NEW Republic etc etc…i think some people just don’t pay attention lol

The Abyss (1989)
Canuckian 6 points 3 years ago.

Love this movie, This came out when James Cameron was at the height of his genius..he came out with a Trifecta of Blockbusters in a short amount of time, all Sci-fi which for me still makes him the best sci-fi Writer/Director of the 80’s/90’s easily. The Terminator, Aliens and The Abyss..what do they all have in common besides being in almost every top ten sci-fi ever list of any substance? Michael Biehn lol. Guess maybe he signed a contract with Cameron, or Cameron just really liked casting Biehn. Too bad no other director could get Biehn to act..if you have seen anything with him in it without Cameron directing, its terrible..he pretty much made only B movies afterwards and a few short run TV shows. Ed Harris and Liz Mastrantonio were both also excellent in their roles..that mini-sub scene though with the two of them..I mean damn, talk about your worst fears.
Anyways, I highly suggest this movie..it holds up better than most sci-fi that comes out now..for me, an easy 10/10.

The Mandalorian (2019) S2 E3

Did anyone notice that Bryce Dallas Howard directed this episode? In case you don’t know who she is, she is Ron Howard’s daughter.

The Tax Collector (2020)
tapwater 13 points 3 years ago.

I watched this and kept thinking it will get better but it didn’t. I couldn’t understand half of the English dialogue because of the horrible sound quality, the half that I did was atrocious. Also a good portion of it was in Spanish without subs. The action scenes were terribly choreographed. Shia did well with what he was given. The director, writers, and crew are to blame for this one.

If done right, this could have turned into a fun series.

Canuckian 6 points 3 years ago.

I was debating watching this as the premise sounds alright, but your review helped save me wasting 2 hrs of my life lol. Thanks for the great review.

Black Rain (1989)
Canuckian 5 points 3 years ago.

Absolutely love this movie, Douglas plays a total bad ass in this along with an amazing performance by Garcia. This has always been one of my favorite movies by Michael Douglas where he goes up against the Japanese “Yakuza” mafia. Bad-Ass movie with amazing performances by all..keep your eye out for a stunning Kate Capshaw as well. I will always give this movie a 10/10!

The Good Doctor (2017) S4 E1
Canuckian 1 points 3 years ago.

AWESOME!So glad this is back! Never been a big watcher of “hospital” type shows (House doesn’t count lol) but i found myself really liking this after giving it a shot back in season 1. I love the character in Shaun Murphy and i think this show is a great vehicle to show (even though this is probably a very rare case) that Autism is still greatly misunderstood and comes in many forms and levels of severity…i think they call High functioning Autistic, a “savant” so to speak. Anyways, i highly recommend this show. Can’t wait to watch the first episode of season 4 after the last seaso0ns incredibly emotional and crazy season finale. Thanks!

Canuckian 1 points 3 years ago.

Gonna see some big numbers this season I think! So glad we are back for another season! I hope Tony goes Bankrupt as usual and I hope Rick Ness succeeds beyond his expectations..as for Parker, the kid is a sure thing, he literally is a Gold Mining Prodigy turning the 300 ounces that his grandfather Shnabel gave him all those years ago (in the 3rd season I think?) when Parker was like 17 yrs old to start his own mine and he turned it into a multi-million dollar super successful mining company..and the kid is only 25 now ffs lol..I want to see the new crew in Oregon do well too. Really looking forward to this season! Great first episode (1hr23min btw) and it really sets the stage for what’s to come this year! Thanks uploaders!

Holy Fat Russel Crowe, You think he put on weight for this or is just that…..rotund now?

Canuckian 4 points 3 years ago.

I like to think he did it for the role…though its sad to think Hollywood thinks your “average” man looks like that..anyway, remember that “Mummy” re-make that came out a couple years ago with Tom Cruise, supposed to be the start of DC’s “Dark Universe” movie series…anyways, Crowe played Hyde (as in Jekyll and Hyde) in that movie and he looked great, think and nowhere near as rough as he appeared in this flick so yeah, that leads me to believe this was all done for this role.

The Boys (2019) S2 E7

I absolutely cannot WAIT for next episode!! Is the next episode the season finale or do we have ten episodes this season? Either way, this show never fails to dissapoint..also, LOVE seeing so many familiar places as this is filmed downtown Toronto where I work most days. Been seeing a LOT of movie trucks moving around the downtown core lately, so maybe they are filming season 3 already? My actual workplace yard is located right across the street from NEtflix’s Toronto studios, and i see a lot of stuff going on there all the time so could be something else, but every time i see a line of studio trucks lining a street, i always look for a flag on a cape and maybe catch a glimpse of Homelander lol..anyways, Best show of the year, easily imo…can’t WAIT for more!! LOVE Stormfronts backstory! Didn’t see THAT coming at all!

Monsterland (2020)
Jhigh03 4 points 3 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

It takes alot for me to write a negative review on somthing and this was that bad and more. I don’t know if my expectasions were just to high for it but I understand that the showrunner was trying to portray humans as the monsters and the real threat, in the same way as the walking dead set out to do. It seemed that it was trying way to hard with some aspects of the story being so forced upon you as to not even make sense. After the first episode I was exited and ready to dig in and get my binge on but that turnrd out to be a red herring. Since this is an anthology and the order dosn’t matter all that much, I would recommend watching episode 3 or 4 first to see what you have in store for yourself and if its worty of your time. I did manage to sit through all of it, only cause of a lack of other programs to watch and because I was playing Xbox at the same time

*edited to mark for spoilers, just cause.

good guess, but remember “it” happened a few episodes back to someone else prior to the events of Sage Grove…when Butcher was handing over evidence to Assistant Director of the CIA or something and her mind was “blown”…so don’t think its the chick from Sage Grove..unless of course they let her out once in awhile to perform such “assassinations” maybe..? The Kellys are always fun to watch, they are kind of like the comedy relief of the show, but Kris Kelly really does seem to be trying his hardest to raise his family up. The father and brother would be lost without Kris as far as i’m concerned..and i STILL think the Dad is high on the “yayo” lol..i mean, he has the squiggly jaw hen he talks…anyone who has ever “dabbled” or is familiar with people who have know what i mean by wiggly jaw lol. I think Kris Kelly should take the new girl, Shauna, who has proven herself already and maybe get another person ( NOT family) and go out on his own and lets see how far his brother and Dad go without Kris there to motivate them and get shit started. Kris really would really be far better off on his own with a different crew other than his family who only seem to bring him down..but he won’t do that because he is loyal..i hope he succeeds, for his sake only. Anyways, BS Under the Ice is far more enjoyable than the summer dredging lol

The cover art for this movie is outstanding, painted by the amazing Boris Vallejo. This is your typical 80’s cheese, with lots of bouncing booty and bad acting lol. Again, the best thing about this movie is the cover art. LOVE Boris Vallejo. I highly recommend checking out his works if you love sci-fi fantasy art featuring scantily clad women riding Dragons and generally kicking ass lol..he did a lot of art work for Heavy Metal Magazine too if your into that ;)
