I really, really wanted Kierstan too follow Jeevan not the stupid travelling w/e at the end. Didnt you?

Chaos Walking (2021)
Kid Kryptonite 8 points 3 years ago.

Such a good cast with such a meh movie. It’s not bad but the story wasn’t worth these actors and undercut their talents. Never heard of the book but it was one of the many times Hollywood has flopped an adaption of one.

Jumper (2008)
SparrowsSong 4 points 3 years ago.

Very good movie. I’m surprised this storyline didn’t spawn sequels. Definitely worth the watch.

Not sure why this isn’t identified in the description as a comedy, but that is 1st and foremost what it is and not a bad one at that.

The Nevers (2021) S1 E3
Farmboy41 8 points 3 years ago.

This show along with “Shadow and Bone” has seriously boosted my couch time this week. I really enjoyed them both, and will thank GOT for making fantasy a little more main stream in the entertainment biz these days.

The Nevers (2021) S1 E2
PonderThis 8 points 3 years ago.

While watching this 2nd episode I kept asking myself Amalia True (aka, Laura Donnelly) reminds me of someone. Well, low and behold Laura Donnelly plays Jenny Fraser, Jamie Fraser’s sister in Outlander.

The NBC Saturday Morning Preview Revue (1974)
Geogenesis 8 points 3 years ago.

Ah, I remember Saturday morning cartoons like it was yesterday.

Is that still a thing, getting up at 4:30AM and watching shows for 6 hours straight then going to the park to spend some of that sugary cereal energy off?

27th anniversary. WOW has it been that long.. Thanks for the heads up, Gonna watch it now just because its the 27th anniversary. Thanks,, When it came out,, IT was freaking awesome movie :) We all sat around smoking a bunch of fattys and turned on the movie :) Now I feel old again LOL :)

Wrath of Man (2021)
Farmboy41 4 points 3 years ago.

This is getting some decent reviews and that pleases me to no end. Guy Ritchie has always had a place in my heart and it looks like I need to make a little more room for his new one.

Snoop 8 points 3 years ago.

I don’t know about decent reviews as it is sitting below 60 on Metacritic as of today but that never stopped me from watching or enjoying a movie so who cares?

Jupiter's Legacy (2021)
xlen 4 points 3 years ago.

I think the main issue here is that it pushes you to use brains to process the themes, so majority of reviewers and test audiences haven’t really understood it, imo, it’s better than 90% of bigscreen marvel

greyfur 8 points 3 years ago.

I rather like it. Had a friend try and tell me on the phone, ‘I tried watching this, but it don’t explain anything, you don’t know why stuff is like it is’.

I told him to keep watching a few more episodes, and it will most like explain itself as it goes, and Don’t remember offhand how far I am right now, maybe episode 4 now, and was right, each one tells you more of that back story, how they got to where they are now and where they are going, so you are not totally in the dark.

I don’t think that’s a spoiler, as I didn’t give any story away, but I do agree, you have to pay attention and watch, it’s not overly complicated, but at the same time you want to let your thinking meat kick in a bit. There’s more here then just flash bang and explosions.

Nowhere Man (1995)
Saucer-People 8 points 3 years ago*.

An absolute TV classic of the paranoid conspiracy mystery genre and yet it seems hardly known about, even compared to other 90s classics like Dark Skies or Oliver Stone’s Wild Palms never mind the X-Files.
As a UK viewer it only came across my radar in the first wave of file sharing in the early 2000s and I was totally hooked - kind of a cross between the The Prisoner, Parallax View and the Twilight Zone.
Kudos to the uploader for making the series available on PW as I’m sure more episodes will be going up shortly.

Ok, I freaking loved this. Tudyk is uniquely qualified to play a weird character, and he nails it as the sometimes sinister, sometimes charming, always hilarious Resident Alien.

Absolutely, our educational system needs to get in gear. Just think in a decade what our workforce ‘could be’ if we leaned heavily into education, job training, forest and infrastructure development/mgmt, etc. Make options available for people to respond and help themselves and each other out of this mess.

fatalsin1980 8 points 3 years ago*.

Well first they need to actually educate actually meaningful stuff needed in life, instead of just how to take a test and boost numbers for the sake of money and status. My mom has worked in the schools for 20+ years and has seen us go from teaching kids things they actually need if life to just test taking. It’s sad and apparent in our kids today.

Easy Rider (1969)
PonderThis 7 points 3 years ago*.

I was still in grade school when this movie was released. I’ve never watched it and had forgotten about this movie until I saw your comment. This movie will be going on my “to watch” list. Thank you for mentioning it and have a good weekend.

yellow_rose1 8 points 3 years ago.

I wasn’t even born yet. Not until the following year. However I was raised by a couple of hippies, being that of my Mom and Dad. Therefore I could relate to it and was very familiar with the soundtrack as it was played in my house hold during my early years.

Archie: the man who became Cary Grant (2023)
Annabella 8 points 5 months ago.

Know the story of Cary/Archie and this is pretty darn accurate. If you like Cary Grant, this is a must see.
Jason Isaacs is jaw dropping in this; always liked him but didn’t realize just how very good he was. Isaacs is amazing as Grant . . .

Better Off Dead (1985)

Classic. John Huges movies are great, but this is in my opinion a true 80’s teen movie. Hilarious.

The Guardians of Justice (2022)

This is so weird. It’s a mashup of so many things. I can’t decide if it’s brilliant or terrible.

Night Sky (2022)

If you need ‘em, Subscene has subs for all 8 eps in one download.

Don’t start watching this before bedtime, you’re gonna wanna binge this one. Slow start but getting real interesting (part way thru ep3) 7/10 so far.

Edit: really good story but it was dragged out for way too long. Woulda been much better if it had been told in 5-6 eps instead of 8.
I’d like to see it come back for a s2 but only if they pick up the pace and cut back on the side dramas. 6/10 overall.

Not saying she deserved to get murdered, but she seemed life a horrible wife.

Julianna 8 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I am not stunned often but reading what was posted above rendered me that way instantly. How could you? WTF is wrong with you to make you say such a terrible thing of this beautiful young mother who was so horrifically murdered by someone she loved and trusted along with her precious babies? She seemed a horrible wife? Seriously, WTF

The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020)

Just watched. It’s very different from original recipe TWD or Fear. Almost like if “Party of Five” had zombies. That being said, I will continue to watch as I like the characters, especially Hope.

Peevee 8 points 3 years ago.

Also important to note. I can see a lot of hardcore TWD fans absolutely HATING this show but I would like to be proven wrong :).

then why ruin the discussion for others? the point of debate is to see both sides arguements and decide for yourself which one has more merit. the idea of well it happened to me so others should suffer the same is a nihilistic idea at best and vindictive at worst

wildcatman420 8 points 3 years ago.

The discussion area is for discussing the movies and that isn’t what is going on. I had an opinion about it, you don’t like my opinion about it…that’s totally fine, move on.

Dark City (1998)
xerox 5 points 3 years ago.

This movie, released before the matrix is the matrix only better.

SJ Robert 8 points 3 years ago.

I saw this in a theater as a double-feature, opening for The Matrix. Needless to say it was the best double-feature I’ve ever seen. Both completely blew my mind. The Matrix is, of course, a popular classic now. Dark City is an underground/cult classic. Both are easy 5/5.

The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Dante89 8 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Decent action, bad casting of actors. And please who wrote that script? this movie was just bad. I loved the other Matrix movies but this was just pure bad. Can’t say any more of the ending because I get banned.

FABULOUS show! I wish it wasn’t a weekly release…gonna feel like eternity to Epi 3. Hope it’s longer than one season, cause it’s a good substitute for the end of Supernatural.

The Lost Boys (1987)
somniloquist 8 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Ever wanted to hear a character’s name repeated over 100 times during the course of a movie? Well, I hope you like the name Michael, because Lost Boys is going to let you hear it approximately 118 times. Plus you get some fun Goonies-type adventures with Coreys, both Feldman and Haim, in their first feature together. And if you’ve ever wanted to see Kiefer Sutherland eat worms, that’s in here too.
A solid 80s horror/teen flick with some heart. It’s a classic of the genre for good reason. And YES the dogs are credited by name at the end. Finally. (I’m looking at you, James Cameron. Pugsley deserved better.)

I’ve been muted for like 3 weeks, can’t a mod mute some of these people so we don’t have to listen to this back and forth. I got muted for something harmless compared to whats happening in this comments section.

Shade_Chylde 8 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

There is a VERY clear favoritism on this entire forum. Some people can get away with text-based murder, when another person gets muted or banned for cracking a joke. It is clearly evidenced in this thread.

Great movie. Lots of dark humor. Both Colin & Brendan are pitch perfect & have such great chemistry on screen. Worth seeing.

kahnwiley 8 points 2 years ago.

One of my favorites. You might enjoy McDonagh’s “Seven Psychopaths,” which has a great cast including Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken. The plot is slightly more absurd, but the tone and humor are similar.

Honest Thief (2020)

Oh look! It’s Liam in the same movie again. I KNOW he has more nuanced actor skills, sure wish they would cast him in something that could utilize them. I love him, so I will watch…. just sayin.
