I really hope they come through with this. I don’t think I can handle another debacle like “The Shannara Chronicles”.

Don’t listen to the naysayers here. People won’t be happy unless every rendition of ST feels like it did when they were younger. Good luck. I’ve been watching ST almost my entire life and I thought this was brilliant. I was a little pessimistic about a ST comedy but if you were a fan of TNG you’ll absolutely LOVE all of the references made in this show. Plus the comedy is pretty bang on. I’m really happy I took a chance on this one. 4.5/5 from me!

2.5/5 I know this will sound negative, but for me this episode was over-saturated with the crews emotions, their emotional responses and processing their emotions with each other.
This has its place, but almost every character was processing emotionally at the expense of pace, narrative and as a result the tone suffered.
I’ve enjoyed watching this series so far, but I can’t see how the show is going to warrant decades of rewatches as per 90s Berman era Trek.

Invincible (2021) S1 E8
Kid Kryptonite 12 points 3 years ago.

As a person who started reading the comics over 15 years ago, this was epic and the show did everything to make the story more relatable and graphic than the actual books. From the voice actors to the animation they went all out showing the strains of each characters personalities and enhancing it. If only you guys knew what is up for the coming seasons. I can’t wait to see Mark’s adventures through this!! I’m really geeked out because of how well they portrayed this series, so thanks to all involved for doing Invincible justice.

This movie makes you wonder and question all the American invasions in the past decades. Invasion such as Afghanistan, Iraq and other middle eastern countries. Not to mention the destruction of millions of lives and properties of innocent people. It is really sad.

Everyone is aware that the election was stolen. Some just won’t admit it. Some can’t. It would be an admission of guilt. Barrack Obama is continuing his mission of destroying America. He said that was his goal , when elected. “I’m going to fundamentally change America”. And he did. President Trump ALMOST had time to repair his damage. Democrats should run out of other people’s money in four years, and another Republican can fix things again. Except for maybe Libya. Obama did such a number on THEM, that I don’t know if they will EVER get straight.

Having seen this, I’m now convinced that Leonardo DiCaprio can play anybody. Also, wow. What a scary film. It’s up there with Idiocracy and The Strain in terms of unflinching realism when it comes to how this machine called society works.

A thought provoking watch, which tries to answer “where is the line between an unusual leader and a plainly dangerous one”. Draws parallels from psychiatry, history, sociology, biology. The many interviews are fascinating.

Madame Web (2024)
Dvora 8 points 1 month ago.

Was I disappointed? Not really! I did not go into this thinking that it was going to be like the Avengers, I went into it understanding that there would be less action because it was a back story reveal. I think Dakota Johnson will make a decent Madame Web (she lacks certain action hero elements, but does have that rigid kind of acceptance of her role in an action movie - especially at the end. I found her role as a wheel-chair bound seer convincing enough) and the girls will make decent action heroes. BUT, I was disappointed with the level of CGI/fx and the villain was total crap. There were also moments when the movie felt rush and choppy. It would have been better if they had decided to incorporate the back story into an action movie a bit at a time. Overall, this was not a great movie but it could lead to something better. That is my hope anyway.

Really great HBO Masonic-Gnostic Dust Bowl series that uses archetypes within the period story of bad vs. good. Totally swept under the rug. Hey… Clancy Brown, Amy Madigan, Toby Huss & Nick Stahl- not to mention old school fav Adrienne Barbeau.

Every developed nation on the planet has abolished the death penalty, except for the US. Pretty much the only ones still doing so are oppressive regimes and Islamic states. The death penalty is a barbaric practice that has no moral or logical value. Most of the world understands this to be true.

They all died, just as shown on the screens in the silo. The outside is as toxic as they always said it was, however the video showing it as a green and life-filled biome was just for the people going outside to make it easier for them. What a twist. We cried!

I had not heard anything about this movie until it popped on here. So I just watched the trailer. Looks like it will be an emotional rollercoaster kind of film. I checked a few links, and with my eyes I am going to go on and wait for an HD version. But I honestly can’t wait to watch this one. Looks like one of those movies that just yank at the heart strings for sure. I will update with my thoughts once I get a chance to watch it.

It is so good I’ve been thinking of watching the entire series again. When I watched it for the first time my husband was still alive and we would discuss and critic every episode. I know it will trigger those memories. On the 17th of this month it will be 7 years since he past

My hope is that people who use this site will keep rating and commenting shows and films despite this no longer being a direct source. To me it is still a useful site as it allows me to keep track of what I’m watching and
set reminders for when its on. Getting honest reviews that weren’t bought and paid for by Hollywood (as many in Google and IMDB are) would also make this site useful.
